Hi - the First All Class Reunion was great!!! I was wonderful seeing Stephanie, Carole, Sharon, Skip and Carmen. I also had the opportunity to meet lots of graduates from other classes including 1929, 1967, and a real nice group of guys from the '80's. Thanks to all on the committee - especially Stephanie and Carole!!!

The first All-Class Reunion was a huge success! It was so nice to see those that may have graduated a year or 2 ahead or behind us.

Highlight of the night.... the class of 1929 graduate in attendance! Kitty was such a hoot.... may we all have "half" her energy when we reach that age! It had to be from running track at the Penn Relays and playing field hockey as a left wing! How 'bout her year book!!

Thanks for all that attended and for those that had other obligations... there's always next year!

See you soon!

Stephanie

Hi Patte and Steph

I want to thank everyone who works on our Class Reunions, they are wonderful times that I love to re-live. Maureen Watt and I are down here in Florida and are already making plans to attend the next one. I did love the multi-year idea. Lots of us had friends in a class before or after us. Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2010!

Our 40th... my my... We will be in touch but the plan is to have a committee meeting in early May so that we can start discussion on dates and location... if you are in the area and would like to join us for this meeting... we have fun... and everyone takes a little piece... no one needs to take on too much... so, let us know if you want to be involved... and most important... I hope that you will join us next year.. for our 40th.

Does anyone get to Upper Darby these days? If so, stop and say Hi at the Kindergarten Center (the former Drexel Hill Elementary on State Rd.). You will not recognize it! It's like I never left UD since I am there every school day of every year....sometimes good, sometimes not so much......
Have a great summer (definitely one of the fringe benefits of teaching) ! Donna

I made my first trip back to Upper Darby in more than 30 years! Hubby (#2) had never been to my "stomping grounds" so I gave him the grand tour of my 2x2x2-mile triangle that made up the distance I could walk: 69th street to Llanerch Hills to UDHS. I didn't have a car in high school!

What struck me was how SMALL the house I grew up in actually was. I met the guy who is living there now (an immigrant from East Africa) as he was painting the front porch. He was amused that I'd come to look at an old house and let me take a picture.

We drove by my elementary school (Highland Park) out on West Chester Blvd. next to the Catholic elementary school, St. Lawrence, and even took a peek at Beverly Hills Junior High (middle school now)as we drove out toward the High School. There was some huge event happening near UDHS so I didn't bother to hang around -- the parking would have been impossible!

After our "drive by tour" we headed through Philadelphia and on to the shore which also looked less dramatic than I remembered it after all these years!

So, maybe the 2010 reunion will give me an excuse to visit again!

Patte - this looks great -- thank you for all of your hard work on this.

Question for all who enter: I'm looking for yearbooks from Beverly Hills and UD for when my brother, Rich, attended. He was very active in sports and if there are any photos of him in the yearbooks, I'd like to get copies. He attended BHJS 1961-1963/4; UDHS 1964/5-1967/8.
Thank you!

Barb,
Have you checked the BHMS and UDHS libraries? They might have old yearbooks? When school starts in Sept., I'll try to remember to email the District librarians.

Loving the brief notes from everyone!

Paula, that is really cool that you came back this way to share you roots with #2. I will still drive pass the home I grew up in, just because.

My elementary school, Cardington Stonehurst, was torn down many years ago.

Hello fellow Class of 70 classmates....

We were scheduled to get the Save The Date mailing out last week; but the storm kept us all at home. We will be rescheduling that meeting soon so please take a moment to review Missing Classmates and update us on any information you may have on those that are currently listed.

Thanks....

Marie Bisanti (Gravina)

Hi All, I have been living in MA since 1976. I do miss Upper Darby, where I lived my first 25 years. My Mom is now 90 and my Dad is now 94 years old. I sold their home and they are now in an Assisted Living Facility, in Colorado Springs where my younger brother Danny lives. He is a retired Colonial from the Air Force. Please let me know, when our reunion will be, so that I can plan to be there! Best Regards, Marie (Bisanti) Gravina

Thank you, to all who worked so hard to make this reunion possible, I am looking forward to seeing everyone. It should be a very special night for the best class that ever graduated from Upper Darby High School. After the class of '1970' they had to tear down the old building because we were just that special.
See you soon!

Four more weeks and counting! Maureen Watt and I have been planning for the past 6 months for this.

Guess it means more when you don't see the area you grewup in on a regular basis.

We are not sure how we are going to do everything we planned, but you bet we will.  Can't wait to see everyone.

As time goes by so quickly, its nice to visit the past from time to time. To remember the days when we wished time away and now wish we could have it all back. See you soon.

The gathering is soon. Forty years ago we spent 30 plus hours a week together under one roof. Since then each of us has done our own thing. In less than a month we will be under the same roof again (for a short time) to laugh, to reminisce, to eat and to dance. How much fun is that! Please work the room, say hi to those you remember and those you don't! It's OK that you don't remember me... but I still want to say hi and hear what you have done for the past 40 years or possibly remind me what you told me 5 years ago... ah, the memory thing.

Looking forward to this short time when we travel back! Please say hi! Carole
